What is Telnet?
- Telnet is a tool that enables you to connect to another computer on the Internet, and then use it as if you were actually directly connected to that computer.
- That doesn't mean you can just connect to any Internet-connected device and mess about with it, nor that someone else can delete or modify files on your computer.
- To use Telnet to access a device you have to actually have access permission, usually in the form of an account at the system concerned.
